Kally Lloyd-Jones (choreographer/dancer)
Born and raised in Scotland, Kally Lloyd-Jones trained at the Theatre Arts Ballet School and Central School of Ballet in London. Kally has worked extensively as a choreographer, dancer, teacher and choreologist in Scotland as well as London, Stockholm and Toronto with organisations which include the The Royal Ballet School, Benesh Institute, Royal Swedish Ballet, Scottish Opera, RSAMD, Ontario School of Ballet, Ontario Ballet Theatre, The Aleph Company, Spinal Chord Projects, Dance House, Right2Dance, Scottish Traditions of Dance Trust, Telford College and various independent choreographers. Company Chordelia, her own dance company has been awarded Projects and Touring grants from the Scottish Arts Council since 2003, and she has choreographed Blood, Sweat and Shopping, Saturday Night Divas, Play On!, Cinderella Pilot Error! and Red Shoes (d. M.Popper). She has also been doing aerial work since 2002. Kally has performed regularly for Spinal Chord Projects, performed in Steinvor Palssons Scots WiHay for Off Kilter produced by Dance Base. She was commissioned to create and perform in a traditional dance fusion piece by the Scottish Traditions of Dance Trust, has choreographed Scottish Opera On Tours La Boheme, The Sleeping Beauty for The Kings Theatre, Glasgow, Brittens Midsummer Nights Dream for the RSAMD, directed by Cathie Boyd, FlyGlobespan TV commercial and Polkadots & Moonbeams for Elevate Youth Dance Company. More recently Kally has been on tour with David Hughes Dance Company, performing works by David and Rafael Bonachela, performed with Tartan Chameleon and The Paragon Ensemble in the Rite of Spring, played the lead female role in the play Sealskin Trousers directed by Jonothan Campbell, choreographed Die Fledermaus (dir. Lee Blakely) for Scottish Opera On Tour and Don Giovanni for the RSAMD, movement directed Green Whale and Wee Witches for Licketyspit Theatre Company and Cinderella (dir. Harry Fehr) for Scottish Opera On Tour. Future projects include A Night At The Chinese Opera (dir. Lee Blakely) and The Secret Marriage (dir. Harry Fehr), both for Scottish Opera. She has been published in Dance Magazine (New York) and has an MA in English Literature and Film Studies.
Michael Popper(choreographer/director)
Popper has a multi-faceted career creating and performing works in the worlds of theatre, music and dance. His theatre-dance works create and occupy a space somewhere between circus, cabaret and cartoon, and have been produced for companies including Scottish Dance Theatre, The Icelandic Ballet, Tanz Forum (Germany), MDT (Turkey), and Gateway To Freedom. His collaborative work includes theatre and opera productions for The Royal National Theatre, The Lyceum Edinburgh, Welsh National Opera, De Vlaamse Opera, Visible Fictions, and The Lindsay Kemp Company.
In addition to frequent solo and guest appearances, Popper has appeared as an opera singer, actor and dancer with companies including The Purcell Quartet (UK/Japan), Opera Holland Park, La Compagnie Renaud-Barrault (France), and Ballet Rambert.
Recent work includes "Red Shoes" with Kally Lloyd-Jones for Company Chordelia, and developing "Fandango": an integrated work planned for completion in 2008. In October 2007, a new venture, The Popper Collective had its inaugural performances in Tel-Aviv.
Peter Baldwin (dancer)
Peter graduated from London Studio Centre in 2003 after touring with Intoto Dance Company. Since then he has continued to work in all areas of dance, film and choreography. His theatre credits include Nu Tempo Experimental Dance Company (London) , XI Almada Dance Festival (Portugal), Pasgetti Dance Company (London, Birmingham), On Eagles Wing (musical arena tour Ireland, America), Dick Whittington (Bradford), Aspects of Dance (Richmond), Leverhulme Trust Gala (London), Save the Children Gala (Royal Festival Hall), Wayne Sleep Celebration Evening (Cambridge), Joy to the World (Royal Albert Hall), Islington Arts Festival (London) and Un Ballo In Maschera (Italy, Genoa).
Peter has appeared on television programmes such as the BBCs Blue Peter and Joy to the World, and has also danced in various pop promos. He has worked on the short dance film titled Welcome to, appeared in Finding Neverland (Staring Jonny Depp), the On Eagles Wing DVD, Pride and Prejudice (Starring Keira Knightly) and two more short dance films. His choreographic work includes the showcase Young Gifted and Black, Fusion, and Dance Overture all performed in London. He has just returned from Israel after working with Michael Popper and Sally Owen for the Tel-Aviv Dance Festival in a piece titled The other side of Tender.
Matt Foster (dancer)
Matt is a self-taught breaker by trade. He co-founded Random Aspekts bboy crew in 2001 and continues to compete and perform both nationally and internationally with the group. He first turned his hand to contemporary dance when he joined Freshmess in 2003. With this company he worked with choreographers including Frank McConnell and Christine Devaney and performed to great success domestically and abroad. He set up his own company Cypher with good friend Tony Mills in 2004 and together they explore the connections between bboy movement and contemporary dance. Matt is currently a member of, and Associate Artist with, David Hughes Dance Company.
Sergey Jakovsky (lighting designer)
Sergey graduated from the RSAMD in 2002 and is now making his way up in the career of theatrical lighting and technical craft. His lighting credits are with various companies including Magnetic North, EK Performance, Theatre Workshop, Vox Motus, Tron Theatre, The Working Party, and Derevo Theatre Company. Since 1998 Sergey has been lighting designer and technical manager of Sharmanka Kinetic Gallery, Glasgow. As the production/technical manager he has worked with a range of Scottish based companies including The Working Party, Vanishing Point, Reeling and Writhing, Toonspeak , Complete Productions, Lung Ha's and others.
Wendy Niblock (publicist)
Since 1994 Wendy has been self-employed as both a freelance Arts Administrator and Arts Publicist/Marketer. This has involved fundraising, general administration duties as well as the development and management of high profile press and marketing campaigns and audience development strategies. Other duties have included liaising with design agencies to implement effective print design and production, arrangement of press and media coverage, placing of prominent advertisements, preparation and co-ordination of press releases, implementing effective marketing strategies as well as management and monitoring of budgets.
